Who do you cherish most?

Based on real events, Split is a non-linear story told from the eyes of a confused, seemingly always tired individual who seeks to answer the question: "Who was I?" by reliving cherished moments.

Lost in time as your life flashes before your eyes, Navigate through an inter-connected web of memories to piece together what lead you to be where you are. What story are you leaving behind?

Learn about yourself and your closest friends  as you discover what it is that made each of them so special to you and experience the moments that you could never let go of.

Take a dive into the inner workings of your thoughts and experience the first full chapter of Split!

"Rise and shine slacker. Time to get up."

Rose may be crass and quick to throw a punch, but don't let her thorns fool you. She is just as caring as she is dangerous.

"By using our knowledge, we can help those that may not even know they need help."

Often vexed by the desire to understand anything he doesn't yet know, there is little that escapes Egos piercing and analytical gaze. And even less that he cannot explain.

"Do you think it will make a full recovery? Maybe be able to fly again?"

Meek and shy with a heart of gold. Zee may not escape the fantasy worlds of her books often, but when she does, its always to help those in need.

"You know the night's not as fun unless the whole gang's here!"

Peppers eyes are filled with a childlike wonder and curiosity for anything new and exciting. Good luck getting this hyperactive and adventurous deer to sit still for any longer than absolutely necessary.

This game is in early access, and as such is still missing some minor features. (Such as unfinished backgrounds.)

It took 2 years for me to custom develop the code in GMS2 and write the story for this ongoing project. due to Ren'py not quite being able to do everything I wanted it to. If there are any features you wish to see included in future updates, then leave a comment!

Help me continue my dream of making games full time by supporting me here, or via Patreon where you can unlock behind the scenes posts, future chapters as they release (Patrons will always have access to 1 chapter more than the public release once a further chapter is available) and content from my other works!

Everything helps, even just some feedback!  Thank you for playing my game!

Ngl, the MC's friends dont talk, act and dress like friends at all, it feels very formal and awkward in my very own opinion

All of these conversations are based on real-life interactions I have had with my own friend group, and about 80% of the spoken dialogue is actually a 1-to-1 transcribe of what has been said by the people they are based on. Granted some small lines here and there have been changed or adjusted for a better flow.

I'm sorry to hear that you felt the characters were too formal and awkward, but I guess that just goes to show that no two groups of friends act and behave the same way lol

I do agree that the way the characters dress is rather unrealistic, but I decided to use their clothing as a way to further express their individual characteristics since they would otherwise all be wearing a t-shirt and jeans if i chose to stick to the realism.

Either way, thank you so much for playing Split, I appreciate the feedback and I will keep it in mind for future chapters! Oh, and I will pass on the art feedback to @ScissorsRunner!

I'm surprised no one has commented yet. I enjoyed playing through this! Art was good, music was pleasant, story does feel a tad aimless at the moment but still I'm intrigued to see where it goes. Group dynamic gives me a bit of a Night in the Woods feel that I am 100% down for.

I did encounter 1 minor issue. In the scene selection screen when I was at the highest positioned scene. I struggled a bit to get back down to the rest of the options. Had to click around a bit before it would go back down. I dunno if it was the dimensions of my screen or what but adding some way to scroll up and down outside of clicking on a different scene would be great. If that's already possible and I just missed it then oops, ignore me lol

I have yet to play Night in the Woods, but If it's vibe is similar I will have to check it out, thanks for the recommend!

Thank you for the feedback, I won't spoil my reasons for it here, but I promise the story being a bit "aimless" right now is intentional, and I will let the artist know you appreciate her work!

Yeah, the control issue with the memory nodes is something I have been informed of and I intend to fix in a future update. As it stands, if you click on an active scene, it will deselect it, allowing you to free roam through the space. But I intend to give a proper tutorial/explanation of this in the future as it was not as intuitive as I believed it to be, Which is on me!

Thanks for playing Split, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
